Perhaps the best thing you can spend your money on is quality bedding. On a playlist with: Ghost Bath, Winterfylleth, Obsequeiae Progressive, even, but in the postmodern sense? *rubs chin* There’s actually a whole great ton going on for what really amounts to toke-and-choke rock ‘n’ roll. Influenced sometimes by jazz, blues, and/or electronic (or whatever the hell else), albums like Higher Time work on a “higher” dynamic. They’re not getting spacier, just better. It’s interesting to watch the upstroke of these obviously-weed-centric bands. On a playlist with: Spelljammer, High Priests Of Saturn, Electric Wizard The blend Eleanora has blended is really quite nice (like when after seemingly 50 tries you get the proportions of coffee to water just right, and you take that first sip, and ahhhh how good can it be). Also on the 11-minute opener: moody yelling and many slow-downs/build-ups, plus a fucking kickass ending. Suffice it to say: there’s a breakdown (a saucy one) within the first five minutes of Elanora. Purportedly, Eleanora is post-something, sludge, hardcore, and/or something? The pigeonhole-y game does get exhausting. Sometimes slam gets technical, and then your skull is beating against concrete walls in esoteric mathematical patterns rather than a simple 1-2-3 beat, yet yo brain can’t tell no difference between a rhythmically-complex concussion and just an ordinary concussion, which you will definitely have after listening to Bringer Of Drought, an album so vile and foul and sadistic and enjoyable, etc., ouch. Listen Bringer Of Drought full stream ( here) On a playlist with: Death Fortress, Skáphe, Photocopy
